Choose from different strengths. Most model rocket kits generally use the 1/4 inch wide shock cord. The 1/8 inch wide elastic chock cord is for smaller light weight rockets that weigh between 0.4 to 2.9 ounces. The 3/8 inch wide size is for larger rockets such as E powered kits. The shock cord length should be about twice the length of the body tube of the rocket.
