Auto World ThunderJet 1968 Ford Torino Silver HO Slot Car

Before stock car grandstands became so “grand” and banked asphalt held the tires tight, it was just loose dirt tracks and drivers with nerves of steel. Drivers needed patience, knowing when to hit the gas and to ease off. The cars were as unique as the tracks - homemade coupes, sedans, and family cars, each hopped-up and marked with “lucky” numbers and local sponsor decals.

The ThunderJet Ultra-G chassis is Auto World's adaptation of the classic "pancake" design, originally developed by Aurora in the early days of electric slot racing. Auto World expanded the design by adding a Neodymium magnet for better control. Still immensely popular today, entire slot racing events are created around this chassis. Closer to true HO scale (1:87), ThunderJet Ultra-G bodies attach to the chassis using two small screws. The ThunderJet Ultra-G is retro slot racing at its best!
