Kadee HO #148 Metal Whisker Couplers (4)

Medium (9/32") Centerset Shank - most popular size and a direct replacement for most plastic Medium Centerset "clone" couplers such as the E-Z Mate. The Kadee #148 all metal, self-centering coupler will fit anywhere a #5 Coupler will work. The #148 coupler is most often a direct replacement for Atlas, Bachmann & Mantua RTR rolling stock and drops into most “standard” plastic draft gear boxes. Installation is even easier with the Kadee Whisker coupler since the centering spring is built into the shank so you don't have to install the centering spring into the coupler pocket as is the case with the original Kadee #5 couplers.

This coupler has the same reliable Magne-Matic and Delayed Action operational features as other Kadee couplers and will function with all Kadee HO permanent and electric, magnetic uncouplers.

The #148 coupler may be mounted with supplied draft gear box or with manufactures cast-on coupler pockets and is compatible with all the different Kadee HO scale size couplers.

Note: It is not recommended to use a metal coupler directly on a metal surface or in a metal draft gearbox to avoid possible electrical crossover and shorting that may cause damage. Use the provided insulated gearbox or insulated #28 coupler.
